It’s not surprising that the upcoming HBO series, “The Idol,” and “Euphoria” are set in the same cinematic universe, considering their creator and controversial themes. However, it was unexpected to see “Euphoria” character Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie, make a cameo in the first episode of “The Idol” as a woman hanging out at a club where Jocelyn and Tedros meet. It’s unclear if she’s playing Maddy at the club, but considering the mature behavior of “Euphoria” high school students, it’s highly likely. Creator Sam Levinson confirmed that the two shows are set in the same universe. Maddy’s sophisticated personality and love of dressing up in glamorous vintage gowns would make her a perfect fit for hanging out with celebrities and their entourage.
