Director Steven Spielberg expressed his surprise at the increase in antisemitism, comparing it to the hate in Germany in the 1930s. He said he had never seen antisemitism “standing proud with hands on hips” like it is currently, daring people to defy it. Spielberg also said that hate and antisemitism go hand in hand and that the marginalisation of minority races has been happening for years. Despite this, he believes that most people are good, citing Anne Frank’s belief that she saw good in most people.
